Got Snow? Make Ice Cream!

Well- after having some 60 degree weather we were hit with snow- I would say we have about 9 inches and it is still going! A couple new friends of mine here the community taught me one thing to do with all this snow:

Make Ice Cream!

Yep! Make ice cream with the snow! It is really simple and tastes really good surprisingly! There really are not any exact amounts of what you need but I will try to help you out some- remember- a little bit goes a long way!

What you need:

  • a big bowl full of fresh snow
  • about 1/2 a cup of sugar
  • 2-3 tsp of vanilla
  • milk
Collect snow in a bowl (make sure it is loose and fresh and clean!)
Add Vanilla and sugar and mix well- if you are using a pure vanilla a little goes a long way. Start small because you can always add more vanilla/sugar to taste

add a splash of milk a little at time till you get the consistency you like!
This melts quickly so be sure to eat quickly! This made enough for 4 people! We really enjoyed it and I plan on doing this again some time!

  3. Looks really good. Just stay away from the yellow snow ... LOL... that is just a joke from when I was a kid.

You can also mix up Kool aid only stronger and make snow cones.
