Yes, another skillet post. I am sure you see these all over the web but I wanted to share with you this one that I did. I am big on making more then one meal out of certain things. For example- my spaghetti sauce is also used as a pizza sauce, chicken can make casseroles or pot pies or sandwiches, ect. Today I used some left over ham that I sliced (attempted to do it thin enough for lunch meat) and made a skillet dinner.
When you are in a hurry and do not have much time throwing something like this together is really quick and easy. It took me about 10 minute prep time (if that) and 20 minute cook time.
What you need (no exact amounts- just use what works for your family!):
- potatoes, diced up (I used a Weston Frency Fry Cutter to dice mine up)
- diced ham
- ground cumin
- garlic powder
- optional: onion, peppers, maybe some tomatoes would taste good
Place the diced potatoes in a skillet and fry over medium heat. Once the potatoes are about done add all other ingredients except the cheese and mix well. Finish cooking until potatoes are tender. Add the cheese and mix till well melted! Serve!
And that is it! Again no exact ingredients- you know how much you will need for your family and you know how much flavor your family likes! You can even make this a farmers breakfast by mixing up some eggs and adding those to it. That actually makes a great camping breakfast for cooking over the fire!
Have fun with this and make it your own! The possibilities are endless!
