So for the longest time I have been craving Pizza Hut's Stuffed Crust pizza. I have not had it for almost 2 years and I just love their soft crust wrapped around a gooey cheese filled center. Oh, I am drooling again.
So I was sitting her thinking and came to the conclusion of really, how hard could it be to make one myself? And I was right, it was not hard at all. I am sure there are plenty of these recipes out there in the internet world. But I was to lazy to look up pointers. This is what I did to make our slice of gooey cheese filled pizza crust.
What you need:
- 2 boxes of Chebe Pizza Crust mix
- 4 tbsp oil
- 4 lg eggs
- 1/2 cup milk (or milk substitute
- about 7 things of string cheese
- shredded mozzarella cheese (or pizza cheese mix)
- pizza sauce
- other pizza toppings
Preheat oven to 450. Then mix together the 2 packages of the Pizza Crust mix, with the oil, eggs and milk according to the package on the box.
On a pizza pan roll the dough out.
Carefully roll the edge of the dough up over the sticks of cheese and press down firmly into the bottom of the crust (you may want to use some egg to help keep it sealed.
Next top with pizza sauce, your favorite toppings and cheese
Bake at 450 for 15-18 minutes or until the crust is a golden brown color. A little note about this. You may notice part of the seam that came up from the pizza. I was able to (while it was fresh out of the oven) press the crust back down into the pizza to seal it all up again. That is why I recommend the egg to help keep it sealed. Another thing that may help is poking holes into the cheese part of the crust to let some of the steam escape.
And it is that simple! A nice gluten free gooey cheese filled crust! While it isn't Pizza Hut's it did the trick!
